Midlife is not a crisis. It’s a recalibration.

I’m passionate about providing therapy for midlife women in Newport Beach and throughout Orange County who are navigating identity shifts, relationship changes, and the many transitions that midlife can bring.

Midlife often arrives with multiple changes at once — and the space between what was and what is becoming can feel uncertain or overwhelming. But it can also be a powerful season of reflection, growth, and rediscovery.

You may be navigating:

perimenopause or menopause
changes in relationships
an empty nest
career transitions
caring for aging parents
• or a deeper desire to reconnect with yourself

My work is grounded in narrative therapy, which means we explore the stories that have shaped your life and begin to reclaim the ones that reflect your values, identity, and future.

Reach out and let’s chat. I would love to connect.

Let’s find your magic in the middle.

Common Emotional Experiences in Midlife

Perimenopause Anxiety

Perimenopause and Emotional Health

Many women begin experiencing unexpected emotional shifts during perimenopause, including increased anxiety, mood changes, sleep disruption, and a sense of emotional overwhelm. These changes can feel confusing and isolating, especially if they seem to appear suddenly during midlife. Therapy can provide a space to better understand what you’re experiencing and develop supportive strategies to navigate this stage with greater clarity and self-compassion.

You can read about 5 Unexpected Emotional Changes in Midlife Women in my recent blog.

Empty Nest Identity Crisis

navigating the empty nest transition

For many women, midlife also coincides with children leaving home. The empty nest transition can bring pride and excitement, but it can also create unexpected feelings of loss, loneliness, or questions about identity and purpose. After years of focusing on family, many women begin asking deeper questions about who they are and what comes next. Therapy can help you reconnect with yourself and explore what this next chapter of life may hold.

Sleep Challenges in Midlife

midlife insomnia

Sleep difficulties are incredibly common for women in midlife. Hormonal shifts, stress, and changing life demands can lead to insomnia, frequent waking, or difficulty falling asleep. Because sleep and emotional wellbeing are deeply connected, therapy can sometimes include strategies to support healthier sleep patterns. That being said, women of all ages can experience sleep challenges, which we often explore more broadly in therapy for women in Newport Beach.

I integrate CBT-I informed approaches when sleep struggles are part of the picture.

If any of this resonates, you’re you’re not alone—and you’re in the right place.

As a midlife woman myself - I see you.

Midlife women are powerful.

They are strong and can do hard things. They’ve carried others, literally and figuratively. They hold a wisdom that only comes with lived experience—and they’ve earned every bit of it.

Around midlife, many women begin to crave something different—something more authentic, more aligned with who they are now. They’re done tolerating what doesn’t serve them.

The tolerance for BS? Low. The desire for something more? High!

As if perimenopause weren’t enough on its own—then come the many transitions of midlife: shifting roles, empty nests, caring for aging parents, evolving (or dissolving) relationships, and more.

It’s a turbulent season that can be disorienting, emotional, and can leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself. It’s a lot. But you DON’T have to do it alone. It’s your turn now to get support after so many years of taking care of everyone else.

If this resonates—you’re in the right place.
