Frequently asked questions.
What can I expect in my first therapy session?
Your first session is about getting to know each other and understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your goals, your story, and what you hope will feel different. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can begin to breathe a little easier and start feeling supported from day one.
How long are therapy sessions and how often do we meet?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes. In some cases, couples and families prefer 70 minutes. Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum, and then shift to every other week as things start to feel more stable and integrated.
Do you offer in-person or online therapy?
Both! I see clients in person in Costa Mesa, California, and also offer secure online therapy for residents anywhere in California. Many clients enjoy the flexibility of video sessions, while others prefer the connection of meeting face-to-face in the office. I also can do hybrid based on your schedule as to what is most convenient for you that week.
What is the price per session?
Therapy sessions are $175 for 50 minutes, and extended sessions (70 minutes) are $225. Payment is made at the time of service by credit card.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. However, many PPO plans offer partial reimbursement for out-of-network sessions. I can provide a monthly superbill to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. I recommend calling your insurance carrier to see if you are eligible for out-of-network benefits.
How do I get started?
You can book a free 15-minute Zoom consultation through my contact form or by calling/texting me directly at 949-371-5534. The consultation is very casual - we’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, answer any questions, and decide together if it feels like a good fit. There is no obligation to set up a session after the Zoom.
